Hipsters, hamburgers and booze – how market forces impact the Tasmanian Agri-Food ScoreCard
The Tasmanian Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment has been producing the Tasmanian Agri-Food ScoreCard since 2004-05. The ScoreCard provides extensive data on Tasmania’s agricultural sector and food production, including the value of primary production, how food value is increased along the supply chain and the market destinations into which the products are sold. This presentation by Mary Bennett will unpack some highlights from the latest ScoreCard and interesting trends in Tasmanian food production.
Mary Bennett is an Agricultural economist with AgriGrowth Tasmania (DPIPWE) and is responsible for the production of the Tasmanian Agri-Food ScoreCard. Mary has a wide range of experience and academic training, including 14 years in veterinary practice prior to joining the Tasmanian State Service in 2007.
