Anti Poverty Week Event - Basic Income: Panacea or Pipe Dream?

Please join the Tasmanian Branch of the Economic Society of Australia, jointly with Anglicare Tasmania, the Social Action and Research Centre and the Institute for the Study of Social Change for an event to mark anti-poverty week.

"Basic Income: panacea or pipe dream?" will be a panel discussion moderated by Meg Webb (Social Action and Research Centre and Anglicare Tasmania), featuring Prof Shelley Mallett (Brotherhood of St Laurence), Dr Paul Blacklow (University of Tasmania) and Dr Alexis Wadsley (Economic Society of Australia), which will explore the merits of basic income.

This event will be held on Tuesday 17 October 2017 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Centenary Theatre, Sandy Bay Campus of the University of Tasmania. Refreshments will be served in the foyer from 5:30pm. This event is free, although registrations close midday on the day of the event, unless venue capacity is reached earlier.
