Please join the Tasmanian Branch of the Economic Society for an event presented by Robert (Bob) Cotgrove titled 'Urban land use and travel patterns in post-industrial societies and their relationship to Hobart's road traffic congestion'.
Bob will discuss how urban travel behaviour and land use structures have changed in recent decades and how these changes affect increasing levels of road traffic congestion in the Hobart urban area. Drawing on this, he will argue that the deficiencies of conventional urban planning paradigms in not recognising these important changes and that there is a need for a new planning paradigm that recognises the realities underlying Hobart’s road congestion problems.
The event will be held on Thursday 5 December at 5.15pm (for a 5.30pm start) in the Murray Room, Treasury Building, 21 Murray Street Hobart.
This event is free to attend but attendance is limited at 20 people, so RSVPs are essential.
