Please join the Economic Society of Australia - Tasmanian Branch on Thursday, 19 August from 6:30pm for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Astor Grill, featuring guest speaker Dr Rana Roy.
At the AGM, Rana will provide a presentation related to the global economic outlook.
Tickets for this event will include a two course meal (vegetarian and gluten free options are available) and are priced at $60 for members and $70 for non-members. About Dr Rana Roy
Since April 1997, Rana has been the sole owner and director of his independent economics consultancy, specialising in the field of public economics in the service of public policy – based in London, UK, for the most part, and more recently in Hobart, Tasmania. His principal clients have included London, UK, Tasmanian, Australian and international government agencies, including the European Commission, the European Conference of Ministers of Transport, the OECD and the World Health Organization.
Prior to this, Rana served in senior roles in government agencies including the Tasmanian Department of Premier and Cabinet, the Australian Productivity Commission, the Australian Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the UK Department of Trade and Industry, and as Chief Economist of ECIS, the European Commission’s think-tank on infrastructure.

Are you interested in helping to develop and organise events for the Economic Society?
If so, you may consider nominating for the organising Committee. The Committee and Executive Roles (President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary) will be voted in at the upcoming AGM. You can nominate to join the Committee or an Executive Role in advance, via email, or on the night, in person. Committee members are required to hold an active ESA membership, be willing to attend regular meetings and assist in the organisation of events.
