Special general meeting followed by social event
Reason: Constitution Amendment for Economics Society of Australia (Tasmania Branch) Incorporated (The Society)
The attached Constitution is for approval at the Special General Meeting. Amendments include, but are not limited to:
- Updates to ensure continued alignment with The Society’s Purposes;
- Inclusion of a Winding Up clause, to address potential ambiguity about the distribution of surplus funds;
- Inclusion of Youth Economics Network and Women’s Economics Network;
- Reflection of changes in the Tasmanian Model Rules that align with The Society;
- Practical updates including membership timing; and
- Updates to fix some spelling, grammar and clause numbering errors.
Information about special general meeting and constitution changes:
- We require at least 10 members (must be current members),
- Members need to be at the meeting in person,
- If three quarters of the members present in person at the meeting vote in favour, the changes are passed
