 About the role

As a senior consultant in the Canberra Office, you will work across all aspects of its economic and public policy advisory portfolio.

  • development of methodologies and proposals
  • gathering and analysing information
  • client liaison and management
  • research, report writing, and stakeholder engagement.

A selection of our active and recent projects managed by the Canberra team include:

  • economic impact assessments of large publicly funded research programs
  • impact assessments of proposed regulations
  • evaluations of grant programs
  • strategic assessments of public infrastructure
  • cost-benefit analyses of government initiatives.

ACIL Allen provides all consultants with the opportunity to be involved in the full lifecycle of a client engagement, from developing scopes through to presenting final reports and advice. About you

To be considered for this position, you must 

  • be able to work with or model economic, financial or other data and develop insights through your own analysis and unique perspectives.
  • have the capability to communicate the insights persuasively through our reporting tools and in meetings and conversations with current and prospective clients.
  • work both independently and as part of a team to shape the advice we provide 
  • Have a well-rounded skillset that allows you to work across all facets of an advisory practice.
  • experience in economics, regulation or public policy advice in a consulting or advisory environment is strongly desired, given our current and prospective book of work.
  • be willing to work collaboratively and in an ethical manner.

 About your qualifications and skills

  • 3+ years’ experience in economics and/or public policy in a consulting, government-funded service, or advisory environment.
  • Tertiary qualification in a quantitative or economics-based discipline (such as Mathematics. Econometrics, Statistics, or Economics), or public policy or public administration.
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Excel, with expertise in other analytical toolkits desirable.
